My Movie "Mistake" Book: Some of the Worst Films of 2012

When my kids were growing up, they loved to point out "Mom's Mistakes", so any thing stupid or idiotic I did, they'd haul out the imaginary "mistake book" and make another entry. As the years went by, the book got heavier and heavier. So, while I won't attempt to quantify which movies were the worst of last year's films, I will share my ideas on which movies were unimaginative, soulless and worthy of being listed in my mistake book of total disasters. Some of my choices qualified as soon as I heard the title or the of the star:

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Watch our 16th President playing the role of Buffy Vampire Slayer, based on a premise that's unbelievable.

John Carter

If you don't know who John Carter is, you'll never understand who he's fighting and why.

That's My Boy

As always, Adam Sandler is vulgar, coarse and witless. You've seen him once, you've seen this movie.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

Who would have thought that there would be a sequel to a terrible movie like the original. Nicholas Cage missed the mark once again.

Battleship

This adaptation of the classic board game presents Rhianna in her debut role. Unfortunately, the film sinks right to the bottom.

Wrath of the Titans

The "Titans" passed us many times before and this version proved no different. Along with "Wrath", Liam Neeson makes the list of worst film three times this year with The Grey and Taken 2. The Irish actor has been nominated for an Oscar, three Golden Globes and a BFTA, but these films weren't the best.

Alex Cross

Tyler Perry just didn't cut it as James Patterson hero detective and was a poor followup to Morgan Freeman who originally played the role. Perry's films "Tyler Perry's Good Deeds" and "Madea Witness Protection" are also "mistakes".

One For the Money

Kathleen Heigl starring as Stephanie Plum was a mistake to many fans of  Janet Evonovich's book series. Critics say the film is criminally uninspiring" and "hardly page-turning".
