Short Lived Celebrity Marriages-Lasting Hours or Days

Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian
When reality star Kim Kardashian filed for divorce, Ryan Seacrest confirmed the news via tweet: "Yes @kimkardashian is filing for divorce this morning. I touched base with her." After all the publicity and an18 million dollar wedding...surprise, surprise. Real or Staged? Your guess is as good as any.

Unfortunately, short-lived celebrity marriages are not unusual. Take a look at some of the fastest to move from married to divorced:
  • It took 6 Hours for 1920's heart throb Rudolph Valentino to end his marriage with Jean Acker.
  • Britney Spears and Jason Alexander's marriage in Vegas ended in just 54 hours.
  • Mega star Cher and rock star husband Gregg Allman ended their marriage after nine days.
  • Carmen Electra divorced Dennis Rodman after ten days of wedded bliss.
  • After dating for six years, Ali Landry and Mario Lopez tied the knot. The marriage ended in just two weeks.
  • Eddie Murphy and Tracy Edmonds married in Bora Bora, only to part company two months later. Pamela Anderson and Rick Solomon also divorced after only two months of marriage.
  • Nicholas Cage and Lisa Marie Presley surprised everyone when they married. No one was surprised when they divorced in three months.
  • The public was surprised when Renee Zellweger and Kenny Chesney married after a quick romantic whirl.  four months later, the unlikely couple parted company. Bradley Cooper and his bride Jennifer Esposito divorced four months after saying "I do".
These ten couples show that love may be blind, but Hollywood has a quick turnaround on wedded bliss. Whatever happened to "til death do us part"?

Etiquette experts say that as for  Kim Kardashian’s 20-karat engagement ring, there are no hard and fast rules except that heirloom pieces from the groom’s family must be given back. “The engagement was followed through upon,” says Post. “The marriage happened and the engagement ring is hers to do with what she wants.”

Wedding experts emphatically believe that after a short marriage, the wedding gifts must be returned with a brief, polite, and heartfelt handwritten note. Monogrammed or used items should not be returned.
