First Lady Stuns At State Dinner

At a state dinner for South Korean President Lee Myung-bak and his wife Kim Yoon-ok at the North Portico of the White House on October 13th, first lady Michelle Obama showed off one of her signature looks: wearing an asymmetrical gown by Korean-American designer Doo-Ri Chung.

Though the White House state dinner honoring President of South Korea Lee Myung-bak had a lack of Hollywood power, there were a few fashionistas in the mix. Here is a look at some of the most memorable ensembles, via the White House pool report.

Sparkle power: White House deputy senior advisor Stephanie Cutter in a dark blue dress with rows of shine.

Best kicks: Tennis great Billie Jean King sported a pair of black Nike sneakers with her simple black pantsuit.

Best crowd-sourced gown: ABC’s Juju Chang in a flowing purple dress. She told White House pool reporters that she picked her frock with the help of an online poll.

Borrowing from the boys: Singer Janelle Monae crooned in a tailored tux and heels. Bonus, her hair was puffed up pompadour style.

Best-looking while expecting: Huma Abedin, aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and wife of former Rep. Anthony Weiner who wore grey. She's "pregnant and still glamorous" according to the pool report.
